GenusPlus Group, a national leader in power and communications infrastructure, has partnered with The Wristband Co. to support R U Ok? Day 2025. The annual day of action is held across Australia on the second Thursday of September. The event encourages individuals to engage in open conversations about mental health, bullying, and suicide prevention.
The GenusPlus Group ordered 1,500 custom silicone wristbands and 1,500 lanyards from The Wristband Co. The bands align with the company-wide safety message: Think Safe. Work Safe. Home Safe. The items carry the Genus and R U Ok? Day logos along with the message:

The corporate campaign’s goal was to spark meaningful conversations among their 1,400+ employees while reinforcing their commitment to workplace safety and mental health.
Where We Started
GenusPlus brought The Wristband Co. a clear vision for the concept and design they wanted for the event. They just needed support to bring their ideas to life through professional designs. The main challenges included:
- Design Support: The team had an idea for incorporating R U Ok? Day branding into their own company logo and mental health message. They just needed the guidance to create on-brand wristbands and lanyards that supported the event as well as their company culture and message.
- Brand Alignment: Product elements (colours and fonts) had to be consistent with their brand while incorporating the R U Ok? Day identity.
- Durability: The promotional items needed to be comfortable and long-lasting, something employees would wear, keep, and remember.
Without the proper design and product solution, GenusPlus risked missing the opportunity to support an important cause and strengthen its own internal company culture, which is built around safety and well-being. GenusPlus sent over some ideas, and our design team started working on wristbands and lanyards that aligned with their brand guidelines, fonts, and colours, as well as those of the R U Ok? Day event.
Bringing Ideas to Life
The Wristband Co. worked closely with GenusPlus to design and create two products:
- Segmented Silicone Wristbands: designed in two-tone blue and yellow to represent both Genus and R U Ok? Day colours.
- Custom Heat-Sublimated Lanyards: featuring the Genus logo, their safety message, and the R U Ok? Day messaging.
We delivered wristbands made from durable, hypoallergenic silicone and lanyards made from 100% post-consumer polyester, which ensured both products were comfortable and long-lasting.
The Wristband Co.’s design team collaborated closely with the Genus team to transform their initial ideas into professional designs that balanced corporate branding with the event’s national mental health message. The collaboration was intentional and hands-on, ensuring that each design detail aligned with both brand standards.

How we got it done
The process was quick, smooth, and efficient. Here’s a timeline of events from design inception all the way through to delivery!
- 29 July 2025: GenusPlus initiated contact with The Wristband Co. with their design ideas.
- 1 August 2025: The first order was placed.
- 6 August 2025: A second order was placed for additional wristbands and lanyards.
- 12 August 2025: Both orders were dispatched.
- 14 August 2025: Products were delivered, and GenusPlus left their 5-star review of The Wristband Co. that same day.
Making a Difference
The campaign successfully united GenusPlus Group’s 1,400+ employees around the important cause of R U Ok? Day. The fast turnaround time for the products enabled GenusPlus to distribute over 1,500 custom wristbands and 1,500 lanyards well ahead of the event, creating strong visibility for their safety and wellbeing message: “Think Safe. Work Safe. Home Safe.”
The initiative not only reinforced GenusPlus’ culture of care but also helped foster important dialogue among staff, reducing stigma around mental well-being and bringing awareness to an important issue impacting the community. The overwhelmingly positive client feedback and a 5-star review are a testament to the campaign’s effectiveness.
